hello Stephen, nice to have such a warm reception from two skilled magicians I know you probably get this a lot but have any of you had a look at RRTCM at some point? I ordered it yesterday because of all the positive feedback on TM. Its teaching system seems to be spot on... I hope anyway!

It is the book that i learned card magic from. The 5 DVD box set is also excellent.

nice, its good to hear that other people have had success with the RRTCM. I'm lookingh forward to getting stuck in . Ill make sure to make use of the search function also! another thing ive spotted is "electronics for magicians" this would be right up my street as im always fixing electronic film equipment at work. any thoughts on EFM?

Of course, it was the first book i studied In fact you'd be hard pushed to find someone on here who hasnt studied, or isnt currently studying this book.

HA, that's great. really looking forward to getting stuck in. although i have read that some people have had trouble with the text and lack of diagrams? How do you find the book Jim? is it just a case of taking your time? I know its old fashioned, but I can look past that. It has had so much praise from so many people.

Im not sure why some people have found the book hard going. I sometimes wonder if they are giving up too soon. I first started studying this around the age of 8 or 9. I still have very fond and vivid memories of sitting in my bedroom as a kid, dogeared deck in hand practising routines from the book. I learned to palm at this age aswell (from the book) using bridge cards (Waddingtons). There was no DVDs and stuff at the time so magic simply had to be learned from books.
While it may take a little getting used to if this sort of learning is new to you, with a little perseverance you'll get along fine. If there is anything you are unsure about in the book or if you are having any difficulty at all just let us know, we will be happy to help with your progress

that would be great Jim I'll let you know how I get on and If I need any help I'm going to really enjoy studying from such a good well received book. thanks for reassurance with regard to the content, I had a feeling this would be the case learning from books suits me just fine
