Much as I love living up here near Inverness with it's bright blue skies, permanent sunshine and AWESOME mountain biking terrain, I can't help but feel a pang of resentment that the world of magic stops on a line between Edinburgh and Glasgow.

With a potential three hour journey to contend with I find myself looking around for potential meeting spots for likeminded nerdy individuals.

Are there ANY places in this Northern Wilderness for magic-geeks to meet up and compare notes and ideas? There must be someone out there....

****WARNING FOR THOSE THINKING OF LIVING THIS FAR NORTH*****

I went onto the good old interweb last week to order a couple of bags of Qualtex type balloons as I had a couple of kid's parties looming. For a bag of balloons was a great price of about £3.95 with about £1.50 postage. However, on putting in my post-code the cheeky machine decided I was so far out in the wilderness it would need the total price of £16.50 postage to reach this far north! :D :(

The best bet for you would be to pop across to Aberdeen. They have a pretty good club up there, and it's closer than either Edinburgh or Glasgow.

BTW, the research in your sig never happened, and it's been disproved :)

What research in my quote Ian?
Have you been on the sauce again ?

I've been meaning to change that for ages, so thanks for the subtle prompt :)

Aberdeen is an option I've considered though I don't often head that way as it's almost two hours away. I think I've just been spoiled in the past having magic clubs on the doorstep.

I'm thinking that being up here may be a good thing to develop without the "influence" of others....

The supposed Cambridge research into the garbled text myth. I don't drink, so the only sauce is ketchup...

Well I'm in Dundee most of the time, I don't know if theres anyone else on here from this area apart from the mog and he's not been on in ages.

And while we're on the Dundee note, I see that Mr. Kendall is performing at Freshers Week here again! I missed you in my first year as, to be honest, I was already too drunk. Some of my flatmates were raving about your magic square though :) But I'll be there this year!
