If you think his choice of disguise-ethnicity was racist I'd say you're the one with the issue. A white skin tone would have left him looking like Bill Maher - even Bill Maher can't pull that off. I've always wondered who's inside the Bill Maher suit. I'd never have guessed Chris Dugdale.

Shawn Farquhar - I hope I never find out how this was done. The most magical event in the entire series imo, with Etienne Pradier a close second.

FoolUs just posted on twitter that they have another episode, but are not airing it until the end of August.

According the the wise sage Wikipedia there are 2 Christmas specials. Either way, I'm sad next week there is nothing.

I liked some elements to Chris Dugdale's routine and the makeup was actually really well done. Using a black alter ego might have been partly to do with the contrast in the reveal, but might also have been because it can be really difficult to get skin colouring right with prostheses. Tom Lauten's the guy for this (I wonder how he's doing), but I think you have to get the makeup right for the lighting, and I suspect a black skin tone might be easier.

I realised who it was within about five seconds of him getting on stage (the sunglasses and indistinct speech tipped me off), which meant I then knew exactly how the country force had been done. Just as P&T did.

I am going to assume Chris didn't get to see them in their London run last year...

I think it was a shame that so much of Manuel's routine got revealed. With Chris's one, it was so limited (you'd at least need a stooge), I am not sure it mattered so much. P&T still didn't explain how a working stapler stopped working (or if they did, it didn't make it to broadcast).

I suppose in both cases there wasn't really much else one could say to explain it in cryptic terms.

As to the loser who downloaded Colin's DVD (and the bigger loser who torrented it in the first place), what can I say but that it's entirely unsurprising.

I too loved Shawn Farquhar. Is this not the same effect as on the trailer for Extractor Gold? It's still amazing if so. I have Extractor and love it but still don't understand that extra step with the sealed deck and the exact position. Makes me want to pay £50 all over again just to get Gold.

*Such* an expensive hobby. 

Nothing of the sort. When you see people made up with prosthetics for movies by professionals, the area areound the eyes is glued down to the face so as to create a seamless transition from fake skin to real eyelids, etc. This can take nearly as long to remove as it can to put on, because you have to remove the glue useing a spirit in order to avoid too much damage to the skin. (some is inevitable, it's glue)
Chris' mask merely slipped over his head, and he needed the sunglasses in order to hide his actual eyes which would have been clearly visible. He could not have performed that effect without the sunglasses, and he figuered that only a black person would wear sunglasses indoors.

That's a bit naughty as I presume you don't actually know that. There does seem to be a bit of Chris bashing after this week's episode - that's fine if the effects/routine were a bit pants and imho they were.

Calling him on his racial sensibilities is going too far however. Is it not entirely possible that the mask is the only one he owns/had available to him?

I enjoyed Shawn's and Etienne's bits a lot. Nicely done.

Did anyone see a close-up of Wayne Dobson in the audience? I could have sworn it was him in this last episode.
