Slush powder

Are there any liquids that this doesn't work with? Is it OK with drinks that are really fizzy, alchoholic, hot, etc? I've only used it with cold water so far. I could do lots of experiments but would appreciate your experience first - cheers!

I've not heard of it having any problems with much of anything other than maybe oil type liquids, though I believe fizz drinks might result in a bubble-filled solid, which the public wouldn't be aware of in most cases.

You may have some problems with Dairy in that it could take a bit longer for the absorption to take place so work with low fat milks if that's the direction you wish to go and do not use milk made from powders unless you allow it to cure for a few days after mixing it (there will be too many solids left behind otherwise).

You may want to look into this area in that there are some new versions of this wonder powder now available that could help you in overcoming some of the other shortcomings. I know that the tampon & diaper industries both have a new "fabric" like material that is at least twice as absorbent but far easier to work with in that you can cut it to size and fit it into the collecting device just as you would a piece of felt. I've only heard of this second hand but do feel it may be a path to investigate.

personaly, i wouldn't use carbonated liquids with a powder, because it will cause the gas in the drinks to foam.

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....

Dairy products do indeed take a little longer for the process to work, but we are talking only a very short amount of time. A minute or so, if even that.

The guy from that Magic Convention that the Blackpool folk aren't happy exists, he did a mini lecturette tour before the last event, and in that he showed us this powder that is marketed for old people with some medical condition, I can't remember what though, and it basically did the same as slush powder but at an absolute fraction of the cost.

I think it was something along the lines of difficulty to digest food, but as I say I could be completely wrong about that. I think Holland & Barret was the place to go for it.
