Met Paul Wilson today....

Postby reignofsound » Aug 17th, '11, 13:04

Met Paul Wilson today in Glasgow as he was filming for the Real Hustle.
Mentioned to him that i had just started in magic and was reading the RRTCM along with his DVD. He asked how far along i was and i said was just at the glimpse section. (told me his fav trick was in this section)

Pointless story but i was quite chuffed as i have been reading and watching constantly for the last 3 weeks :)

I remember seeing him near the Palladium in London with the other guy from The Real Hustle. I had no idea at the time he was a great card magician. But I'll know next time.

I watched Paul Wilson's show at the Edinburgh Magic Festival earlier this year. Apart from a couple of effects (a variation on Fast+Loose and the shells and pea trick) it was an hour of card magic - watching a master at work. If you get the chance to see him perform, I can't recommend it enough. He did some extra shows in a close-up setting with a limited audience gathered round the card table and I wish I'd been able to go to one of those.

I'm also following RRTCM with the help of his DVD set and also hadn't realised until recently that he's an expert with cards.

Does anyone know what the R stands for in his name? its puzzling me!

Ive seen interviews with him on TV and away from the real hustle he always seems far more interesting imo.

The dvd arrived for me today, but im yet receive the book so will be working through it soon :)
