My Very Busy Weekend

Postby Beardy » Aug 29th, '11, 22:52

Aloha all - I just thought I'd give an update on whats been happening - I've had a really jam-packed weekend and really enjoyed myself :)

I got invited along to perform backstage for the acts at Leeds Festival, which was really cool. I met some really nice guys, and even got to hang around with Tim Minchin in his dressing room and had lunch (the personal highlight for me!)

It was very, very busy. I also had to perform for the crowd at the main stage in between the penultimate act and the headliner on one of the days also, which was very good fun. I'll post up a video of part of it later, though that was a looooooonnnng set, with a hell of a lot of different people.

The biggest thing I can recommend from this weekend? Learn the muscle pass. It is the single most impressive thing that you can do, anywhere, any time, with all kinds of audiences of all ages, sobrieties, druggedupities, and languages. It trumps all mentalism and magic that you can ever do, in that the coin falling up is just simply impossible.

Was also told about Derren's upcoming tv special. It takes teh heist, puts it on steroids, and royally shafts it 8)

All in all, was an amazing weekend, and I really enjoyed it, and thought that I would just post up an update :)

Love

Chris

Haha thankyou. I assure you it isn't gloating. A few years back I would post up when I had done a wedding gig etc, in excitement. This is just me doing the same thing, in essence.

Is the new show actually related to the Heist in some way regarding robbery or changing people's values? I was wondering about that, I saw them asking for people. It should be good.

Not necessarily robbery, but it definitely plays with values from what I heard. I don't know everything that happens, and I can't wait to see it in action!

Well done, sounds like a fun weekend

Saw the Strokes set on the Reading set, they were pretty amazing

Must have been weird performing magic in front of people who were drunk/stoned and there for the music!

What were the reactions like?

Are you watching closely? Then I'll begin...
