The guy sounds, like others have said, like a dick. And there seems to be a high correlation between being a dick and being a believer in any organised form of superstition.

I know that I'd never normally rise to bait like that but as I've managed 2 hours sleep in the last two days due to a couple of poorly little girls, I'm in the mood for a frustrated rant.

Tony, that point of view makes you as much of a 'dick' as anyone else. People are perfectly entitled to hold what ever belief they want without the fear of be ridiculed. I agree that the person that the original poster is talking about does sound like a bit of an idiot, he's no different to people that we've all come across in the past, many of whome probably didn't have any faith. On the other side of the coin, I've recently started doing a few little free performances church functions and never met anything other than really lovely people.

There's no need for religious intolerance in this day and age. Let me tell you another little story about my nephew who came home from school on Monday after a day of bullying because, being muslim, 9/11 was obviously all his fault.

Don't stereotype people because of their faith, it's not fair and people should be perfectly free to follow whatever system they choose to.

My point is, he was going out his way to tell people the impossible can't be done just illusion but yet believes in something equally as impossible but believes that 100% without fault.

Not got any "irks" about his faith, just interested in others views

It doesn't sound like your interested in anyone else's views, you've spent most of the thread having a go at his.

It sounds like you're annoyed he believes in God and not your magical powers. I'm sure it's not that, but you seem quite pi**ed off at him for believing in something you don't.

Also, I'm not sure you can compare creating the universe with an ACR. It's not that impossible ...
