Weird. It seems I got it the wrong way around. It's for close-up work???

Well, maybe it's not as bulky as it at first looks. At least, the thing itself isn't bulky, it just depends on how much stuff you put in it.

I can't see Lenoir buying one of those.

Nah. No space for a TT.

Imagine you're all loaded up and trying to get in a nightclub and the bouncer wants to frisk you.

"Anything under your jacket, sir?"
"Um..."

Or police stop-and-search, on Brixton Hill.

"Magician, are you, sir?"
"Oh, just a hobbyist..."

I am quite lucky in that I live in between the two pubs I usually perform at

If I ever fancy doing a trick and don't have the necessary 'tools' I just pop home (30 seconds away)

I'd phone my mum and get her to bring it.

Maybe because I never had that much money to spend on props I've never had an issue with pocket space. My standard set up. One set of pocket sized Rider-Waite tarot, one pendulum, one small envelope with a card and a sixpence in for giving a blessing Paul Voodini Q&A style. All fits in a drawstring pouch with a cloth to spread the tarot on should it be required. This was used recently for an hour and half of close up entertainment. But I could happily use it from a stage. I also have a haunted key attached to my normal keys should I want something extra. This fills one pocket leaving me with space for my wallet and phone in the other pocket. If I'm feeling like travelling fully loaded I might put a card effect in the wallet or a set of ESP cards.

If I have the urge to do more traditional magic a pack of cards and the contents of my wallet have usually sufficed.

I love props that fit in with your existing objects. I'm going to start a thread on this topic now because I think it's a hugely interesting topic.
