I am looking for an American Half Dollar expanded shell, & was wondering if

'PRO line' means nothing, it's all the same poor quality from there

if you want TOP quality american gaffs and really are willing to pay for that quality then Jamie Schoolcraft is the best there is (expensive but the BEST there is)

I'm not slating JB for no reason, I've had bad experiences (especially with coins) not as 'PRO' / high end as Mark Mason makes out

the main reason I have an issue with Mark Mason selling below par coins is this:

I must say the Schoolcraft half dollar set does look tempting, but at 350 bucks it's pricey.

I may send him an email, see what his best price is.

95 bucks for just the shell. My concern is, without the whole set, other coins may look a little suspicious.

What's your thoughts mate?

I must admit they are very expensive but you won't find anyone more highly recommended ,you have to remember that he deals with orders from top working pro's that make a lot of money from magic and can probably justify paying that much. I would defo email him though because he might be able to help you out deal wise.

I have nothing against commercial gaff coins, as long as they are not advertised as a 'higher quality / high end' (which Mark Mason's are)

I've been looking for a good commercial UK coin gaff maker / supplier for ages and was recommended a few but have since completely forgotten about my pursuit (gave up and concentrated on card magic). I will look into this again and if I can source some better quality commercial coins I will of course let you know.

Johnson Precision Magic were (and may still be) considered the best 'commercial' gaff producers

sadly no longer produce UK gaffs due to legal issues but still sell US coins

He has a slightly cheaper set "Walking Liberty" coming in at $190 they look pretty good.
I have emailed him, I'll let you no how it goes. I don't mind paying that little bit more for quality.

Card magic is my first love, but there are one or two other routines I would also like to have in my magic box.
Just ordered "A Charming Chinese Challange" I think it's a brilliant routine.

This really depends on what your want. I'd say if you are starting out with Coin gaffs then Jonhson or Tango are your best bet. They won 't break the bank and if you drop a gaff or lose one, you won't want to go on a killing spree. I think both of those companies sell gaffs for like 30 bucks on up and most of them tend to be pretty damn good. While they aren't as custom made top of the line like Lassen or Schoolcraft, they do the same job.
