how much wax?

Having just bought some wax and using it in a few things I have found I am unsure of how much to use. Can anyone recommend any tips for using it?

you use as much as you need.

A sugestion.
If you go to magical wonders web site ( they are based in in watford.) They have a christmas sale on at the moment.
Included in the sale is a book on magic using wax. It even comes with a bit of wax.
I seem to recall the book was reduced a couple of quid. It was definatly well under a tenner.

This will probably answer every question you could possibly have regarding magicians wax.

Sorry i cant put a link up.. For some reason this pc im using isnt letting their site open. This is the problem with helping out people in your lunch time.:)

Hope you don't mind me asking please, but I never understood the wax thing. I was reading Bruce Elliott's Classic Secrets Of Magic and he advises using a simple loop of sellotape as it is transparent so is easily hidden around a finger, cheap and readily available in any shop or home. What is the advantage of seeking out and buying wax instead of using sellotape? Are there any advantages? Am I missing something here please?

yes. you cant use tape for about 99% of the things you use wax for. Indeed i think you can only use tape for card on wall,( and then only if the wall is flat).
wax sticks to rough and uneven surfaces, because it molds itself around bumps.
Also, you cant stick 2 cards together with tape, as in can rip the card. Wax comes off clean and can be used as an alternative to roughing fluid .

the leclair hookup would need wax not sellotape
vernon's rising cards from the 'hanging by a thread' section in one of the inner secrets needs wax
the original haunted deck

etc etc

although as stated, you can use sticky tape for many of the same things

In a nutshell, you can't add stuff to your cart.
