im thinking about the old dove in bottle trick. A bottle is wrapped in paper, its snapped in half, and a dove flies out.
if you were to have a fish that could be broken in two, you could wrap it in newspaper, ( which is a logical thing to do with a fish) snap it, and produce the flower.

Fish hooked onto pull, flash paper shroud on fish, light flash paper, produce rose a la kevin james.

It is a good idea but using fire canopen a can of worms if you are even allowed to use it at venues.
