Difference in price

Postby CArlight1958 » Feb 2nd, '12, 13:50

The last set of Bicycle cards I ordered from the Bond Agency were. "
Bicycle Standard POKER Rider Back - Dozen (12 decks) £20.50.
I noticed that most of the decks were very rough on all four sides, almost like they had been cut with a blunt blade.

I was thinking of ordering some Bicycle Gold Standard - Traditional Cut by Richard Turner.
These are quite a bit more expensive, coming in at £5.75 per pack.

So my question is.
Are these cards worth the few extra quid?

Cheers.

I buy the 12 deck bricks from Costco (just been to the one in Leeds as it happens) and have never noticed rough edges? In fact I have only ever noticed rough edges on a stripper deck.

Not used the gold standard I'm afraid.

I wouldn't spend that much on a pack of cards.

I sometimes get a pack that feels a bit rough, but they soon smooth out. I find bikes need a little breaking in anyway.

Try Bicycle premiers, they are smoother than a babies bum but are £10 a deck!! They are made on Bee casino stock with the bicycle artwork. But then you could just buy bees at £2 a go!

If you think the decks aren't up to scratch, and by the sounds of it (to me, not a cardie) they aren't, then just give the guys at the Bond Agency a call, their customer service is second to none. I once bought a handful of Piatniks from there, one of the decks had crumpled slightly in transit, they replaced them without hesitation. In fact, I received the replacement less than 24 hours after calling.
