Coin Unique

Postby Chris Black » Feb 20th, '12, 19:53

I picked up a coin unique at Blackpool, it didn't come with any instructions/dvd's etc. and I'm not sure if it's a bit rubbish or if I'm not getting the handling right. I really wouldn't do this in a spectators hand, it's difficult enough to do in my own hand - and I can't get it to work under a glass either - any tips? (it's a 10p 2p version)

I think u need to be a bit more specific - in what ways can't you get it to work???
To be honest you don't really need instructions, if u know the trick it's pretty much self-explanatory ..... sounds like u might have a dud one :(

If i place it on my palm, overlapped and close my fist I still have to do some squeezing and grinding to get them to connect.

Under a glass the coins remain overlapped even when the glass is spun quite fast.

Sounds almost as if you've been supplied with one with no chamfer

How much did you pay for it?

it's this one...

I think the centre of the 10p is attracted to the rim of the 2p too much too.

Def sounds like you've got a dud - the 2 halves should click together with very little pressure. If your're not careful, when placing the 2 halves together, ready for the "under the glass trick", the 2 halves attract and interlock - that's how strong the attraction should be.
I'd contact the supplier and explain your predicament :(

I think I will, the attraction seems to be centre to rim, so if I overlap them too much rather than them interlocking they're more likely to ping further apart...
