local talent show

Postby magicman98 » Feb 6th, '12, 18:50

Hi there

I'm doing a local talent show at a local community centre and ill be doing close-up stuff with cards and things. I just wondered what kind of setup they used on pen and teller like with micheal vincent they had a big screen showing his hands on a bigger scale like zoomed in so that the audience could see it more clearly from far away and is it possible to hire that sort of equipment or even make your own setup.

The talent show organiser doesen't have that sort of equipment available and said i would have to provide it myself if that's what i wanted to use.

Many thanks :) :) :)

Video camera, projector, screen - that's what they use at Blackpool anyway!

Not cheap either! I keep thinking about getting a live camera feed setup for stage shows but rather expensive

They can be hired but that's not a cheap option either.

My other hat is video and I know that if you approached a local video club they would be delighted to assist as they like projects. Could be free but a modest fee would be appropriate. I have done this myself. Having a really large screen might be a minor problem but our video club uses an 10ft one. 6ft ones are generally to hand.
Where in the country are you based? Mark
