It seems that Kati and I are the only ones who have read the description in Art of Astonishment and know that the cards are not damaged in any way, nor are they "gimmicked", but are entirely normal cards!

if that is 100% true, it is an awesome imprompty effect, and the weird thing is that I never have seen a ungimmicked version of such an effect....

It's not very practical if your thinking for example table hopping.

For what reason ?, is there a lot of setting up ?
If so could this not be done in front of spectators with a bit of clever misdirection ???

Indeed:

The cards are NORMAL in every regard. No scar.

It does require some preparation. PH gives a way of setting it up under the guise of a puzzle, but this does seem suspicious to me.

The spectators can't really see the setup, even with misdirection, as it's too easy for them to see the secret.

I actually read this in Close Up Seduction...

Overall, it's pretty good but not very practical as it's rather angle-sensitive and easily goes wrong.

Just had a quick practice of this using my bikes then I had to go back and watch your video again.
There was a slight discrepancy with my routine (still baffled the missus though  )
I see why you chose those cards - the video quality may have something to do with it too  but I can see this (in the right situation, with the right props  ) being an excellent impromptu quickie for when you get asked to "do a trick"

Yay! Now you know how it works :).

Unfortunately, Bees don't work for this, so I had to resort to the cheap plasticky cards that you get in Tesco. They do work though :).

Well, you liked it before you knew how it works :).

As I said, it's not really an effect, just a 5-second quickie.

Well well.... magic, for a magician, is often like that. I mean, an effect can be very good, but as soon as you know the secret and the limitation of the trick/move/effect, then you might not like it anymore, or at least, like it less...
