Just to clarify you're not selling anything here, you're just looking for feedback / advice on an effect you perform?

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

It's ok, Palmo checked with me before posting. He's just looking for feedback on his routine and not trying to advertise anything.

I really liked it and thought it was a nice routine performed well.

I had thoughts and opinions on this, what was good, what was bad etc but the thing is it really doesn't matter what I or anyone here thinks, we are not your audience.

For example I personally found your trick boring, not because it was, but because I've seen it all before, because I'm a magician and a massive nerd.

Your effect was well structured and obviously impressed your audience and that's all that matters. Your performance was a bit rough with too many 'erms' but that's only improved by performing it over and over again to real audiences, or scripting it if you're the type that can (I can't).

Your not going to get any useful advice from any of us, we are not a good measure of what laymen find impressive.

A good example of this is 'X-Ray' by Ben Harris, I and every other magician I know went crazy over this because it was so * impossible, but I showed it to my layman friends and they all said the same thing, 'A magician names a selected card, so what?'

You've put together a good routine, of course it can be better, anything new can be improved over time. You want support or congratulations from this forum I'm sure you'll get it, but it really makes no difference and you shouldn't let it affect your decision making, show it to your layman friends (not your family) ask them what they think.

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

Thankyou both Jean and Lady, both for a quick reply and counstuctive criticism.
I agree with the 'erms' being too frequent, and the roughness is all too apparent. I'll be presenting this at a party I'm going to later amongst other effects so will get the opportunity to act on your advice Jean.
The clip is only the 3rd time I'd performed it, and thought it would be great to share. Certainly not for congratulations, support yes,but mainly to show everyone that a card could be loaded into the back of a phone case. I havn't seen anyone doing this yet but I could be completely wrong being such a noob so please correct me if so.
Jean I completely agree with your X-ray comment. Not the effect itself, but the fact that its all about the laymen view, and that should be the only reason we perform right?
Thanks again, and I'll post tomorrow how well tonight goes. It'll be my first time doing anything in front of more than 5/6 spectators in one place. As calm as I am now I'm sure it wont take much from drunken uni students to slap that straight out of me! lol
Speak soon

Nice one Kyle,

A little bit of fumbling in your pocket, but quite a nice effect. As its already been pointed out the ermms need to be addressed, but with more practice and a few more performances for laymen these problems im sure will be ironed out.

All the best

Steve

Kyle has come along way very quickly.

I was amazed when he showed me this. Its a great idea and I was fooled at the end as when he showed me this live the load into the phone case was flawless, I didnt think it was possible to do this with a gel cares. So for that alone this routine stands out to me.

Well done Kyle. As the others have pointed out its just a case of keep on performing to iron out the kinks.

Well done and keep doing what your doing. Lets m eet up in the week mate.

Lee.
