They are very cheap looking and very very cheap feeling.

You really do get what you pay for and if you want to give off a quality impression, I'm afraid these business cards won't do the trick.

Branching out?

As for business cards for anyone interested, Moo seem to do some nice looking ones, I personally haven't handled any from them and so could be getting tricked by their fancy website, but worth a look. Vista prints cheap bargains used to be good quality, they must have gone down hill a little then. It is true though, you get what you pay for. If someone's serious about their business then it's worth spending the extra.

They are some that are free or very cheap, but they do carry a vistaprint advert on the back of the card.

I Had vista ones years ago and never used them, awful quality. If you are not using a designer or printer then Moo are the ones to go for. I used them all the time before i got a designer to do my cards.

At Develop Brighton someone handed me a business card which had "hewlett packard photo printer" on the back of it like a watermark. The front was full colour glossy though.

Also it had a peculiar curl to it.

I've used Vista Print, I found them ok although Moo are far better. If you're going to go with Vista Print, it's really worth paying a little extra for their glossy finish. The quality of those is far better than the stanard matt finish.

I use moo.com and can't fault the quality and finish.

Vistaprint are OK if you use a custom design and not one of the stock ones and get unmarked backs. I bought a pack of stuff from the Ali Bongo estate which included one of his cards - with a Vistaprint logo on the back! If it was good enough for him...

They have three particular advantages for a mentalist. They are cheap, they make great billets and they're all the same size.

I had 500 'free' cards from Vistaprint a couple of years ago, it cost extra to not have their advert on the back then plus postage so the total cost was about a fiver. Nevertheless, they do exactly what I want, the font is a bit small but that's no real problem. As Barry says, the size is consistent and they do make great billets!

I had a local company print 500 business cards for Subversive. They changed the logo's font and decided I didn't want an apostrophe where I had put it. Needless to say, we won't be sending out the Photoshop file for printers to use in future!

Would love to see a photo of (the front of) that!

I've used Vistaprint in the past a lot for stuff for my voluntary org, once you've made a paid order you get inundated with offers and can sometimes get quite a bit of stuff in small quantities for not much money.

I went on Moo.com's website and did not like it. I have used Vistaprint for years. If you order the basic you get basic. But if you pay a bit more (still cheap) you can get high quality cards. Mine are my own design, glossy full colour finish, with a separate image on the back advertising my bouncy castles. I have no complaints.
