Card launcher....

Postby Aza » Aug 24th, '12, 17:58

Hi all,

I'm looking for a little gizmo/gadget/device that will enable me to put playing cards in then they will spring up in the air so i can magically "catch" their card while all 52 are all in the air

Any thoughts?

Much love

They're called card fountains or something like that.

If the actual effect you're going for is catching the card then a gimmick isnt needed - the cards can be sprung into the air by hand and the card caught. Its usually done with two cards.

Where are you intending to use this ? In most cases you're going to have to pick the cards up yourself, which is something you'll have to think about.

I sometimes use this with the last two cards of a multiple selection routine (essentialy the one taught on Michael Vincents Classic Magic with minor alterations). I have another finale I use aswell, and actually prefer. Anyway, in my opinion the catching of the card/s is best suited as the finale of a routine rather than a stand alone piece.

You can get card launchers but I dont know how that would help to catch them... You could just b*** p*** the card get someone to throw them in the air and produce the card while sticking your hand into the cards.

Cheers Jim,

I'll see what i can find, i like the Dynamo effect of putting the cards into the pocket of a pool table, and i play a lot of pool, so am always using it as an impromptu place to perform new bits.....

Craigie, i understand that the gimmick won't "catch" the card for me :) i was just looking for a different way of doing it, other than springing them into the air or having somebody throw them...

Much love
