In the Hands Card Effects

Postby morrowsean » Oct 24th, '12, 20:49

Hi all,

Just wondering what is everyones favourite in the hands Card trick? I dont know about you, but wherever i am, im usually next to a wet bar, low table or wrong surroundings when performing Card magic. I would love to be able to perform Triumphs, Out of this world style effects or doing some fancy table shuffles and spreads, but always end up doing ambitious Card, Two Card Monte, or Here then & there. Can anyone recommend any 'In the hands' card effects i can add to my routine without the use of a table. Cheers!

Nearly everything I do is in the hands. Tables are just to put things on. :D

I was about to say...Lee Smith is the guy to look up.

"I want to do magic...but I don't want to be referred to as a magician." - A layman chatting to me about magic.

I'm not sure about OOTW but there are definitely a few handlings for an the hands Triumph out there. I do a simple version using the slop shuffle. Hope that might help a bit!

John Guastaferro's One Degree has a nice in-the-hands reworking of Hamman's signed card.

There are many more if you google them, Wizard product review gave icandy worker of the week and 98% as well.

STEP has more card effects than the others and pretty much all the material are in the hands.

If you decide to get any thing then? PM me and I will do you a deal :D

If you are serious about quality magic for professional use then get both of Lee's DVDs and if you have a good budget, the Paul Gordon ones.

Which of Paul's do you use. I use more of Paul Gordon's and Gary jones magic than any others.

Paul's easy ace estimation is awesome. (And can even be done on the hands)

For those that Don't know. Although i appear to just do 'spooky stuff', i do regular magic but keep it seperate from my dark Ents stuff....

I rotate a lot but i tend to use Diminshing? Not Likely!, Twister, hellman's aces, easy ace estimation. I also really like Still Flabbergasted, the simplicity of that effect is wonderful.

Just to add to this Paul Gordon won't mind me saying, but he has a new book coming out in December called Gold Dust, which has something like 140 of his best effects in it.......

I know it's going into my library, as well as Lee Smiths stuff that people have already mentioned!!

Much love

ive told myself im not buying anything else for a while until i read / watch what i already have, but ive had Cards on the table - Jerry Sadowitz, Step System - Lee Smith and one of Paul Gordons dvds (havent decided which) on the top for a long time.

its only a metter of time before i end up getting them, but might wait for the new PG book in December. Lee, do you have anything on the horizon?

Yes Relish,

Me and Gary Jones have a massive project coming very soon. Ft James Brown and others. Will keep you all up to date as I know more about the release date.
