Magical New Years Resolutions

Postby Lenoir » Dec 31st, '12, 00:44

Anybody got any?

1. I've found it hard to juggle magic with work this year and therefore am going to try and schedule it better
so that I can get out and perform more, it's some time management needed.

2. Master Astrologic by Alain Nu!

Would be interested to hear everybody else's.

"I want to do magic...but I don't want to be referred to as a magician." - A layman chatting to me about magic.

Sadly I gave up making resolutions of any kind years ago because I broke them all within days and it was getting very depressing!

My resolution is to double my income, and switch to doing the majority of my shows for adults rather than kids. I also want to get good at vent.

For the coming Year my plan is to take my stage show into the theatres. After three very well received shows this year it's time to take the automoton by the horns, organise more shows and perform it more regularly.

Also got six weeks notice as a Christmas gift, so need to resolve to get a new job in January (and not to break that resolution).

It's not a resolution, so much as a plan: stop being on JSA and register as self employed and (though not solely) make some money as a performer.

I do sincerely promise and swear that in 2013 I will:

1) publish my website

2) go out on the street and film some real world stuff

3) not buy a single effect involving cards

4) learn learn learn what I have, instead of buy buy buy what I haven't!!

5) get to a TM London meet

Oh and I might drink less wine but I say that every year!

K ;)

1. Must must must get over fear of palming, and spiders. (Or spiders with giant palms)
2. Start working on a bottom deal.
3. Stop biting my nails.
4. Try to get to Blackpool!
5.Try to find some magicians to meet up with in Cornwall, I know you're out there somewhere!

Great post Lenoir!!

We can revisit this next year and see how we all did.

1. Learn a new card sleight.
2. Perform a stage mentalism show.
3. Pull off the MASSIVE interview that's been planned for over a year with 2 big players in the world of magic.
4. Attend more magic meets.

Good luck with everyone's targets!!

I may have been born yesterday but I stayed up all night.

My new years resolution for 2012 was to help me overcome stage fright, I have written up the outcome here: ftopic45466.php

But I'm unsure what to do for 2013, hopefully something to further my struggles with stage fright, do any of you have any suggestions?

Last year the resolution was to perform for a stranger. I hope to build on this but not to push myself so far out of my comfort zone that i return to never performing... Any ideas would be great!

I've not really got anything magicy for this year but my plans are,

To get back into running and swimming, perhaps run a half marathon by the end of the year.
Get my nan's recipe notebook typed up and possibly published.
Revive the plans for my own North African resturant.
