Help finding the right trick

Postby MiKo » Jan 25th, '13, 14:55

Hi, friendly TM folks. I am in the process of devising my personal card routine and I am looking for something to do as a finale.

Hopefully you will be able to give me ideas and, most importantly, references on what to perform.

Here are my requirements (from the most important to the less important):

1) Only very basic sleights, the less, the better (because I'm terrible at most sleights and because I really want to focus on presentation and misdirection).
2) The premise is to give the impression of being able to follow the shuffling of a deck precisely (I don't care to be serious about it: it can be so over-the-top that it's evidently a false premise).
3) Multiple stages revelation printable on a t-shirt and, if possible, with a final "mistake" (I would like to mix this with a quick-change effect to correct the "mistake" in a very visual way)

So far, the closest I have found to what I have in mind is: http://youtu.be/mzD2PBaqRBc, but I have no idea how complicated it is, nor where to find it.
And, in any case, it can be something completely different: point 3 is not that important, it's just that I really like the idea of correcting a supposed mistake in a very visual and unexpected way...

Almost any version of Shuffle Bored will fit perfectly. It was originated by Simon Aronson.

By personal favourite version is Rainman by Lennart Green on Vol. 7 of his first dvd set...I believe the recent dvd set titled
something like " Ultimate Self Working Card Tricks" has a version too.

Thanks a lot, Lenoir. I'll try to get my hands on one of the two DVDs (or maybe both). Sleight-wise, how hard is Rainman?

Also, if anybody else has other ideas, I'd like to hear from you...

used to do almost the same ending with a tie. I made a tie so it could rotate 180 degrees. it looked like i was stroking down it but i was actually spinning it.

was a kickass ending. still have the tie somewhere but it does not suit my style anymore. also i use to have to perform the trick with my suit buttoned up to hide the bottom part of the tie which sucked.

anyway, for the shirt colour change make a square design on the shirt so you can just remove a small patch. having a who false shirt front is a pain in the *rse, and a patch can be reset easy.

good luck with that its a cool premiss.

Pretty much self working. Most methods of Shuffle Bored are! You've got to keep track of a few things but the methodology is absolutely
simple.
