The Very Best of Jay Sankey series

The Effect

What a great set of DVDs!

It's Jay Sankey time again, and this time it's the "Very Best"!. On each DVD you have performance and explanation sections, and in all of them the quality is superb, the angle is great, there are close-ups when you need them - 10/10 for the production quality.

I've listed a few of the best effects here but they're all good!
Diehard Opener: A quick but very strong little opener. Comes with a few great (and easy) flourishes to get you started (including Sankey's version of the Hot Shot cut, the Snowshoe cut), then you try to find the selection (and fail). Drop it on the table, and after a while you can show that's it's changed into the correct one!

Stuck Up: What a mind this guy has! Trust me, it's just like they say it is - you staple two Jokers together then a signed card rises through the deck and is found stapled between the Jokers.

Please Don't Feed the Cards: Heh heh heh - this one's fun to perform. It's a relatively simple effect but includes two cool card 'animations' with a rubber band - the cards spring into a triangle then 'attack' the selection.

Switch Places Aces: Sankey does all your work for you here! Selections are lost in the deck, and you say you'll make them come to the top. But at the top are the 'switch places aces'! You prove it: the aces switch places. And again. And again. And then with the selections!

Parallel Worlds: katrielalex bows down to the genius of Sankey. That's all I can say. A selection switches places with a mini card from another deck...

Fly By Night: A very simple trick but sooo fun to perform! You put one card in the card case and close it. Then staple the other one three times, and gesture magically (or hypnotically!). The staples move from one card to the other!

Mr. Clean Coins Across: A super clean, super direct (and not that hard to do ) coins across routine - what more need I say!

@#X!: If you can do the MCF, this one's for you - the original version of Paperclipped! Classic!

Cost
$51 if you buy all three from Ellusionist, but Penguin say they're going to get them at some point...

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

Meh...they range from 2 to 5 (well, I can't do the MCF...) but on average, about a 3. All the sleights you will need are taught in great detail, so don't worry about not knowing them.

Review
Woo-hoo! Sankey again! I love Stephen Mul--er...Jay Sankey!

All of these DVDs are Sankey at his best. Great effects, BRILLIANT explanations - everything is covered in just the right amount of detail, and he's still wacky!

Overall
I can't fault this DVD set in any way - 10/10 from me!

I'd agree with you, a really excellent set of DVDs and if you haven't got any Sankey then this is the pace to start and if you have then this would be a welcome addition to your collection :)
