sponge banana shortage

Postby devilstick Peat » Jul 24th, '13, 17:07

I ordered alan wongs sponge bananas on line from a respected dealer the other day. The next day they rang me and told me he has stopped making them, now he only makes the junior ones, which are the same price, but a bit smaller.
They just arrived and are more than a bit smaller. I'd say more like half the size, so no where near as vizual as I need.
I went back on line and everywhere seems out of stock, making me believe the dealer (who I'm sure will refund me when I say I cant use the small ones).
will the same effect work with "Latex Banana by MagicLatex" which cost more (£16 each)

the latex bananas are designed to appear as real bananas but have the same properties of a sponge banana so I would assume that the same methods would work with the latex as sponge. only thing I wouldn't do is involve spectators holding them as you can do with some routines, this is because there meant to look like real bananas but wouldn't feel real.

Not sure if it the same thing you're looking for, but try http://www.mreenterprises.co.uk
Eddie is lovely and if you live near Stoke if you ring he'll invite you up. It's like a private magical shopping experience.
Every time I go I plan on spending a tenner and end up handing over my credit card.

I'd like to add. I'm not spamming. The above if where I most of my magic from these days.

Also I just did a search for bananas and nothing came up, but I was up there last week and I saw he had a box full.

Apparently the monsoons on the sponge plantations were particularly harsh this year, leading to a reduced crop.
