Unique fortune telling playing cards

Postby MatCult » Jan 2nd, '14, 11:41

I've just seen these and I think they look pretty cool:

I like the look of them. I reckon they would work especially well for anyone who dabbles in readings or cartomancy-themed effects.

I've also heard a rumour that the back design incorporates a sneaky marking system!

Oh, that looks gorgeous! I've got the Kadar fortune telling box, and the art there is awesome. *backs*

Hey MatCult

Thanks for sharing this project. You are right. These cards were designed with dual purpose in mind. You can use them as standard playing cards or as a reading deck. Look at the suits and all will be revealed.

Very tempting - even if I did miss the early bird option. Roll on March 2014...... :D

They're beautiful looking cards, very tempted but do I really need yet another pack of fortune telling cards? OK perhaps I do...

Since when did the word 'need' come into the CUPS equation? !!! :D

This is, essentially, the lure of Kickstarter - the project will only be funded if enough people agree with me that a project is a good idea :) So if it's funded, clearly I'm right that I need the whatever, and if it's not I'm not charged...

Hmm. Or something like that...

I've decided to back this project for a full brick of cards. The potential with them is huge. If doing readings, the extra cards will be great as back of room sales! The artist and originator of this deck has a forum where he's been sharing more thoughts on the system. If you've backed it (or are considering backing it) consider checking it out - http://alchemy-moon.freeforums.net/board/25/kadar-kards

Really like the look of these, so I've backed it. I do very little in the way of reading (almost none) so hopefully one deck will last me. Love the folk-art look and feel!

There's now a PDF booklet about the history of the deck available on the Kickstarter page.

I see it references the old Alchemy Moon effect Zoltar as one of the inspirations - now that's an even stronger reason to check these cards out, Zoltar involved a very basic magic move but quickly developed into near enough doing it for real.

If you backed this Kickstarter and you're (im)patiently waiting for your cards to arrive, you might be interested in THIS.
