I've never owned one but am considering a purchase. Everyone says the El Duco Swedish reel is the business. But you pay for it! Any thoughts on the other reels available and their pros and cons. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Phil

Not an easy question to answer due to the vast amount of reels on the market. What exactly are you planning to do with the reel.

Good q. I rather like the idea of the silk through mike stand type effect. Possibly serpent silk. That kind of thing...

You are going to pay for all the quality reels. I'm not an expert on the subject, I tend to use IT reels. But I have heard good things about Tango's ultimate reel.

I used to use Paul Diamonds reel but they probably are not made anymore. He guranteed them for life. They would break you would call him up and tell him its broken and he would say, "Well I guess that was the end of its life' But then he would send you a knew one anyway.
