A cracking looking book on spirit slates by Chung Ling Soo has just caught my eye.

I (legitimately!) downloaded that one some years ago and it's a real belter - William Robinson was a truly creative magish, shame he's mostly known for dying on stage in the bullet catch effect.

I've just finished reading Oliver Ho's How to Read Minds and Other Magic Tricks.
It was written for children, but I found it useful for learning some basics. I would buy it, I would recommend it to complete beginners.
