I swung by the LPP a few months ago, and entered my details to sign up to it.

Haven't heard back from them since, but I believe they have a load of online resource books for magic that a freely available.

If I ever hear back from them, I'll let you know what I think of the site.

Cheers,

I am a member, and I think it's brilliant. The books are quite old, but have some really good idea's. You should try register again, I heard from them the same day.

THe Learned Pig is brilliant - a bit weird to navigate around the site, but as soon as you get the hang of it it is well worth a look.

I seem to remember I was accepted about two months after registering - whoever runs it is obviously dead busy - don't forget it's not a retailer or other company, so there won't be staff available every day to answer emails. I get the impression it's one guy on his own running the thing.

Marko, the owner/operator of the site is a working magician - full pro. For a while, he had to devote a bit less time to his site, which is why it was taking several months for folks to get an answer or be admitted to the site. Presently, though, he has time, so if you haven't received an answer in a month or more, then re-contact Marko. He should get back with you quickly now.

Further, if you are using the site, then I recommend that you buy the CDs that they put out from time to time, which Marko uses to fund the site. I recently bought his #3 CD and also picked up "The Best of LPP E-Zine." Both are very much worth having in your library.

Also on the LPP site is the home of the late, great Gene Poinc. For any bizzarist, this alone is worth having access to. For those of you who are not familiar with Gene, you could say that he is the God Father of Bizzare Magic. He is a personal favorite of mine and he has a monthly column in Linking Ring (trade magazine of the IBM) - this column has been continueing now for two years after his death (Gene wrote a gob of columns and gave them to the editor of Linking Ring, so we still get to read his fantastic columns to this day! :P ).

Mike.

Yes, the Poinc stuff is great! Gene also wrote for Genii Magazine for a time under the nom - Poinc from another planet. It was hilarious stuff. If you are interested, there is also material from Gene on Dragonskull.co.uk I contacted Larry White, who helped Gene out in his last days and had a great encounter. Larry has a great article there about Gene. He was a brilliant writer and a beautiful soul who didn't realize the extent of his influence. Gene was a very generous person and left a great deal of his art to anyone who asked. I was fortunate to receive a nice woodcut piece which I treasure in his memory.

I really enjoy the TLPP site, there is a tremendous amount of material, public domain, that Marco has accumulated. It's kind of like the Gutenberg Project for Magicians.

Marco is in South America and brings some interesting stories to the party. Always a plus for Bizarrists!

When I signed up, I just sent him an email to see if he got my application, the next day I got a confirmation email.

The reason the books are so old is because their copy rights have expired. Thats why we can get all this wonderful information for free. Just as long as we know the awnsers to the questions :P

I must say, I really like the origami in the paper magic books. Those swans are quite fun to make and play with :P

Also the idea of training a pig to 'mind read' is really cool! Imagine having a piggy like that 8)
