Back in my day you had to pay your dues in time and money.Today things have changed and with the advent of the internet, magicians have so much free information, that the investment of money doesn't have to be so large. There still however is an investment of time finding the good stuff, as Harry Lorayne would say. Now Idk if my links, are any y better or worst than anybody else's but listing them here should save you some time in trying to find them on your own? If I'm repating anything already posted on the board? Forgive me. I'm new here and don't really know, what's already been posted?
http://www.penguinmagic.com/browse.php?c=free I really like Penguin Magic. I have had issues with some of their stuff (especially things bought in there open box auctions) But in time, they have always made whatever the problem right. For me they have had some of the best customer service available and these freebies are just part, of what I think makes them stand out from the rest.
https://www.hocus-pocus.com/magicshop/i ... hoice=0072 Another shop that offers free items, what I like most about Hocus Pokus is that they often get estate items and one of a kinds not available anyplace else. Some good freebies there.
https://www.lybrary.com/magic-free-c-21_4326.html Specializing mostly in eBooks Library.com is probably the number one resource for magic eBooks online. They not only offer free items at the link I posted but also host the entire Leaned Pig Project archive on their site. You will have to set up, an account but it really is worth it.
https://trickshop.com/free-downloads.html Speaking of eBooks, Trickshop offers rewrites of older book,s for insanely inexpensive prices. This page doesn't have much but what it has, is golden.
http://www.learnmagictricks.org/ultimat ... on4987658/ Page after page of free eBooks mostly in the public domain but just a relevant today, as when they were first published.
http://www.vanishmagic.com/ A monthly magic magazine free to anyone wanting it. Extremely good material, in every issue.
That's my short list, I have more but just know, that if you seek you shall find. Then you can come back here and post, your own finds. I hope, this has been helpful?
