Coin Unique

Postby -The Scot- » May 4th, '03, 16:46

Name: Coin Unique. (£1/1p)

Available from: Magic Bunny Shop.

Price: £24.50.

Maker: Eddie Gibson.

Examinable: Yes, switch coin and they can keep it for a souvenir but it can be briefly examined without switch.

Difficulty: 2 out of 5.

Out of 10: 9.

Effect: A £1 and a 1p coin are overlapping slightly, a wine glass is placed over the two coins. When the wine glass is spinned round in circles, the 1p totally vanishes. The vanish is spectacular. This coin can also be used for transpositions, penetrations and coin vanishes. Other effects include:
MATCHBOX COIN VANISH
Two coins are shown and placed in a match box ( Not included). The matchbox is closed. The box is then placed on the hand of a spectator. The spectator is told to hold the matchbox tightly and to give it a little shake to show that the coins are still in it. The magician then makes a magical gesture and asks the spectator to look inside the box. The spectator does so and it is immediately seen that only one coin remains in the box. The other coin has completely vanished. This coin may be produced from the spectators pocket!!!! The spectator opens the box and removes the coin him or her self!

CRYSTAL DROPOUT
Two coins are shown, a 1p coin and a £1 coin, and any glass tumbler. The two coins are placed into the glass. The spectator can clearly see the two coins fall into the glass. Then an amazing thing happens. It appears that one of the coins somehow penetrates the bottom of the glass and falls out onto the table. The remaining coin is tipped from the glass and tossed into the air, proving that nothing remains in the glass, which can be passed round for examination.

Other effects possible with COIN UNIQUE include:

PLASTIC BOX VANISH
BARE HAND VANISH
SPECTATOR TRANSPOSITION
SWIRL AWAY
GREEK GEORGE'S METHOD
PERFECT PENETRATION
£5 NOTE PENETRATION
EDDIE GIBSONS COIN THRU' SILK
TAXI FARE OR BUS FARE

Comments: I also like this effect. It is a very good effect that is totally self working. If you are looking for a very clever coin gimmick, this is for you. Eddie Gibson makes these coin gimmicks fantastic, all of his products meet high standard approvals. This is a must for close-up performers. It is an easy illusion that causes amazing reactions and a lot of talk.

Thanks,
Kevin

The way i do this is put the coins in the spectators hand i then rub my hands together and make the 1p appear in my hand.

Yes I like this a lot too. I also have the 2p/10p equivelent which is also made by Eddie Gibson. I like using both as I feel more comfortable showing the different variations possible if I am not always using the same coins.

I also believe that there is a £2/2p version.

I have found that this works very well when used in conjunction with the R B Coin Deck. A card is selected totally at random with this gaff deck. It is then lost within the deck. The 10p/2p (in this case) are put on top of the deck of cards, on top of each other, just overlapping. A small cup is used to spin the coins round and suddenly the 10p has penetrated through the deck and is on top of the chosen card. With a quick switch these 2 tricks combined will knock people sideways.

Is the R.B. Coin deck the same as the one sold at emagictricks? if so it seems to be a lot cheaper here than some of the US sites Ive seen it advertised at (one site had it at $50). It made me wonder if it was the same trick...
