My dad showed me a trick were he lights a match and tells me to pull a magic string from the air, and wrap it around the burn match(its been put out) 3 times and pull, and then part of the match falls off. i cant figure out how to do it, if you know how, please contact me!!! :D

Sorry, I'm afraid we can't give out any secrets here but I am sure someone will suggest a book or something with a methods for that in. I will tell you it is one of those tricks that makes you wonder how you never guessed it when you find out how it's done.

Isn't it obvious?

Since you've pulled the magic string from the air, it slices through the match and the end of the match falls to the floor.

How it falls to the floor is quite complicated to explain, however I think it's known as Gravityto most laymen.

Hope that helps...

Ahhh... the mysterious Grav-ity. Has anyone else used this effect? The idea's been floating around in my head. But I'm not sure this effect is for me. I want to keep my feet firmly on the ground...

You know, I have been trying to find the Grav-ity gimmick for a long time. I think Ellusionist.com had one but that guy made it look so pretensious I just couldn't bring myself to buy it from him. Penguinmagic.com had a "build your own Grav-ity gimmick" instant download... but I didn't have any nucleo-ionic destabilizers laying around to clean up the anti-positrons and quom spills. Jeez, who woulda thought youd have to learn quantum physics to make a match break.

Oh well! Off to read my fourth edition of thermo-nuclear quantic 'grav-ity' and mathmatics book so I can learn to make cards levitate.
