What is your current skill level?

I only ask because you have Born to Perform in that list - which makes me think you're new to card magic, and perhaps magic in general. If so, I might hold off on 45. I don't own it, but I know that some of Sankey's material (notably his coin work) is advanced - and may be beyond your current skill level.

So, once we get a gauge of your level of ability, we can better advise you on what would be the most benefit for your money.

Hi

I have 45 and there is a lot of tricks on there well 45 unsurprisingly and they are not too tricky to learn so I would suggest you get 45 and Born to perform and when you have mastered these DVD's get the other items.

Regards

Dean

hmm .. depends on your personal preferance on the sort of magic you want to perform.

I'm more into my "slight" magic ... not a big fan of gimmicks, especialy those that use magnets and strings, its often quite obvious.

I looked at getting the humming bird card a while back, and it does look quite impressive, but i think the camera angles in the demo vid help hide the obvious method for how it works.

Oz Pearlmans stuff is always good, clear and concise explanation's of the most powerfull beginers tricks, also covers a bunch of fundamentals and flourishes ... i would be be where i am today without that DVD.

No need for such a pointless comment... ;)

Jay Sankey's work is always exceptional, I'd keep Born To Perform and 45 and master it all, you have enough material in there to have loads of fun with specs

I'm a beginner and im more into slights and such, but a couple of gimmicks are pretty cool. i might get rid of the hummingbird card and keep 45 and Oz pearlmans dvd and mercuring. but is spun worth it?

As far as Mercuring goes, I'd say hold off from buying that one for now. It's an absolutely brilliant effect, but very difficult to master. There's only a small amount of 'sleightage,' if you will, but to get it right and get the performance smooth and believable i very difficult.

Found this link to a previous discussion on Mercuring: mercuring

There's a few other bits and pieces about it too around the forum, just click the search button above and type in 'Mercuring.'

I've got it, and don't use it. Yet.

This is like asking what car you should get. It's impossible to know. It all depends on your preferences, your skills, your magic, and experience. Surf the web, check reviews, check vids, and find out what effects YOU like, or that suit YOUR audience....

I recommend Born to Perform or similar beginner DVD's and books and you'll find many reviews on TM that I urge you to read before making your choice (assuming that this is your skill level). A couple of plain decks of cards (Bikes) are also advised and then as Sir Rawlings has said, concentrate on learning the basics.
