SPUN

Postby katrielalex » Jul 30th, '05, 10:08

Hi all!

SPUN is out now so just to ask if anyone has it?

The reason is that I'm off to the States on Friday for 3 weeks so I could get it from Polar Bird there and not have to worry about shipping times and so on...

Not out actually as that was just preorder - but it is now so if anyone has ordered it, I would love to know how it is!

e.g. Is it suitable for an IT beginner?
Is the bend good or is it silly?
Is it workable?
Practical?

Thanks in advance!

Nobody have it yet :(?

I'd really like to hear if anyone has this and if they have any opinions...

The PM reviews seem good but then I don't really trust them...Penguin wouldn't let a whole lot of bad reviews be posted, would they?

I may have to get it anyway but I really don't like spending money...

:? Kati - Penguin wouldn't allow a whole lot of bad reviews to be posted...

8) That's not true. It would be practically illegal to deny low grading reviews. When they say that "Acepted Reviews will be posted" they are trying to filter out the ones with crude, obnoctious, or down right false remarks. Also, the ones with obsessive curse words.

I think it looks pretty stupid IMO. The effect is two completely different effects smushed into one. In a lay persons perspective, bending a coin is incredible. So is making a coin levitate. But making a coin levitate and bend, at the same time? :?

I think its a magicians trick. To a magician, making a coin float or bend is easy. But the two combined-WOW! How could we do that!

No.
Its just confusing.

What will they think of next? Colour-changing disappearing floating deck?
A 4 ace production which explodes?

Jeez!

Ooh, a 4 ace production that explodes - can I have one please? :)

I see your point though ouch...and the bend really looks unconvincing - looks like a switch to me .

I was waiting for a review here but nobody seems to be buying it .

I think that those who are interested in this are waiting for someone else to spend their cash first and it's just a matter of who gives in first

I disagree with Ouch in that I think that you're looking at this from a magicians perspective instead of a lay persons perspective;. If you get the presentation right (if that's possible given the suspected method) then the specs should be pretty amazed at a levitation and bend.

ok guys, i have this trick.

It is suitable for an IT beginner because morgan strebler goes through the set-up and wadever very well! He's an excellent teacher!

The bend is pretty good, as if it is actually bending in mid air, but it looks a bit like it's wobbling, but it is still very nice!

It is workable. The difficulty if morderate, you need practice but practicing this trick is fun!

It is a practical trick.

Gaff boy, the coin is borrowed and signed and can be returned to the spec after the routine.
