Neone know where to learn matrix free?

Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

Well all this talk about finding good tricks for free on the net is very controversial. It's true that for the greatest magic mysteries you do need to pay money or make them up yourself.

However it's extremely possible to become a superb amateur magician just from free stuff on the net. For example, I learned the invisible palm routine from the internet. A painfully simple routine that to anyone not familiar with the concepts is nothing short of witchcraft. I've had better reactions from this trick than from some of the tricks i've learnt from dvd's, books or downloads that I've paid money for.

If you can gather the skills for free this leaves a good budget for supplies (i.e. lots of decks, close-up mat, etc) rather than paying to learn. Just depends how far you wish to go.

We fully acknowledge that there are plenty of places where secrets of magic are freely available but, in view of the complex legal and moral issues, TM just can't condone, support or recommend them.

With regard to the cost of magic, many of the commercially available items are relatively inexpensive and books/DVDs/Videos usually offer a good selection of instructions for effects and tricks at a very low cost per item. Check out Nic Einhorn's Art of Magic and Sleight of Hand for £2.99 at The Works - about 10p per trick or thereabouts!

The Nic Einhorn book on sale at the works must surely be running out of stock soon so I for one would recommend getting hold of a copy as soon as you can.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Yes you are correct, but sometimes If you find good free stuff, then you might not want to share your source.

The matrix was invented by Al Schneider and is taught on dvd 2 of his series "The Schneider Technique". He also has a great ebook detailing the history of the routine as wel as teaching it and a few variations. You can get these on his site: http://www.worldmagiccenter.com. The dvd set is brilliant and you'll learn far more than just the matrix.

Yes you can get it as a penguin download - but IMO rather support Al and get it from him. I somehow doubt penguin are giving Al any royalty for their download, although they do credit him - surprisingly
