after some time i got myself some new Bikes from HOM must say fanning, DL and the rest felt much better, if your cards are getting on i strongly suggest "get some new ones" £2.50 at HOM

whilst i was there couldnt resist in getting other things, Steve at the shop was great he even shows you some sleight of hand, and he is pretty good. (well what do you expect he's there 24-7) lol

It's cheaper if you buy from magicbox where you buy in bricks. I got a brick of 12 Tally Ho fan backs for £21.

It is cheaper to buy online - you're quite right Stevebo.

But, if you only want a couple of decks then I find that it's more convenient to buy these in a shop, even if you're paying 50p more. You get them there and then and you save on shipping costs.

However, there's something of an experience in itself when visiting a magic shop, no matter how many times you go back. Whether it's being able to 'touch and see' something new or speak to other magicians who happen to also be visiting, until you've had the experience it's difficult to explain.

Once you're there you don't seem to mind paying a few extra pounds.

good point but if you go to HOM you get to see the shop nicely laid out and the Steve at the shop is a nice guy and shows you quite a few stuff

I'm assuming that "Steve" isn't me! LoL.

Penguin Magic is good to order from because of free delivery. I haven't properly been into a magic shop so I wouldn't know but I would probably be overcome with C.U.P.S if I do go!

By the way, what does C.U.P.S stand for? lol. Have always been trying to work this out.

I think that it stands for Compulsory & Unneccessary Purchase Syndrome and yes, you most probably would be overcome

Leave any plastic that you have at home and take in cash, only what you can afford to spend and you then at least have a safety net

what does C.U.P.S stand for?

There seem to be two definitions, I have seen it expressed as:
Compulsive Unnecessary Purchasing Syndrome

but, as far as I'm concerned, there's nothing unnecessary about magic (apart from one or two people I could mention!)

However I'm sure the real definition is:
Compulsive (or Compulsory) Uncontrollable Purchasing Syndrome.

It's a mental thing and we all get it at times; it's that 'gotta have' feeling whilst you drool over the latest magical offering which simply must be yours right now - and to hell with the expense! :D
