Okay Nathan, and others, here are some ideas for the folding coin - first off the folding coins I have encountered do look like you've taken a bite out of them, varies from make to make but the reviews for Half Bottled on Penguin mention them using it to bite a chunk out of it and no negative comments so I'm assuming yours will look fine. There's so much more that can be done with a folding coin though, and it depends on how many times yours folds - some are just once, others twice and some three times. One idea I've been looking at is tearing the coin instead of biting and then magically restoring it - good if you know someone who's in to metal work but I think it's more credible than just biting it. Under the guise of tearing just fold it, bring in to play other half of coin and away you go. Other ideas...trying to think of some that aren't in Bobo's book...you could use it push it through your hand (or any surface which has some 'give' and will fit around the jagged edges - just be careful and don't cut yourself!) and maybe work out a routine from there...sorry that's all I can think of...maybe look at some of the other reviews on Penguin for some more inspiration? Turns out Bobo's book doesn't have as many ideas as I recall BUT it's got a great wealth of material for anyone interested in coin work, and you can combine effects to form routines...
(NOTE: if these ideas have been covered elsewhere in already published material then let me know and I'll remove them - I haven't come across them before though)
