The rub should be incidental - the focus should not be on it.
EDIT: I notice that Goldfish said to slow it down...personally, I would do the rub quite fast, then wait for a sec, then 'snap' your hand forwards to do a quick change - make it look like the rub had nothing to do with the change.
2. Oz Pearlman had a couple of tips, the main one being that if you spread your fingers on the change it makes it look much more visual...
3. Once you've done the change, don't hold the deck...this makes it look like you are doing something funny.
