Here's an effect by Brian Tudor that I like very much.

A triumph type effect that is used to find any four of a kind.

A rather easy trick yet very effective! No pinky breaks or anything! :P

Edit:Enjoy!

not too bad i suppose, you did flash quite a significant item at one point which kinda gave away the entire workings of the effect and it looked like you were doing something after you squared up. Might i suggest spending more time learning the effect well rather than rushing it just so you can post a vid?

I have learnt the effect well. I have performed it several times and it has worked very well!

Hmm, I'm with the mog, your handling, especially during the first half of the effect is rather clumsy and I noticed a big flash.

Please take this as constructive criticism!

I'm sure you could fool some specs with this - but really that's not the point, you should it down smooth and precise, after all we should aspire to make magic an artform rather than a series of moves that just about fly.

Okay.

Here's an improved version. I'll take down the other one and replace it with this.

This version should (hopefully) be better.

Enjoy

It would have been good if you had left the original video up so people could look at both and see if you've improved.

Seeing as you didn't do that, if I were you I would listen to what Mog and TheMightyNubbin have to say, seeing as they were they only people who managed to see the first version.

This is the third time in a few days that somebody has suggested you slow down and master one thing at a time. Are you not seeing a pattern Stevebo?

I must admit it is quite frustrating to come on here and see people such as yourself churning out video clip after video clip of poorly performed effects and moves which do not do themselves justice or more importantly the Art of Magic. Mini-rant over.

All the best,

I understand that.

One thing which was really annoying me is my webcam as I couldn't get a good angle on the cards without distorting the images! If I put the camera higher, the lighting was poor and you couldn't tell between face down and face up! lol.

I won't be making videos for a while now anyway. I think I'll try and improve on my effects, especially Collectors.

@Goldfish: was there anything bad about the video that you saw just out of curiosity? Thanks

I agree, accordint to what the mog said about the flash, the second video is comparitively better, however I still think there is room for improvement.Your presentation is not quite up to the mark.

Yeah. I understand. I really could not get a good angle for the video either because obviously I wouldn't be performing the trick at that particular angle.

That is quite a nice effect. I thought the pacing of your perfomance was good not rushing through it. I did think though that your weave together of the cards at the start was a bit sloppy but i think that was just the camera angle. All in all well done :) with a bit more work i think that trick will serve you well.
As a suggestion maybe rather than finding a four of a kind you could find four different cards that spectators have picked, a few false shuffles etc should get them to where you want them.

I don't think that would be possible seeing as the trick is set up.

I thought that was good, but I would have liked to have seen (saw?) the 1st version so that I could know what everyone else is talking about

I thoguth that that was a good trick overall, just work on the performance :D

You could use 4 selected cards if you like,

You seem to be missing the first half of the trick stevebo, where you place the cards in and things like that.

This is just the whole trick itself. It would be very hard to put the cards in the everything in full view of the spec.
