Who was this?

In the words of Father Dougle McGuire, "Bear with me on this one, Ted, because it's a bit mad":

Lots of people play air guitar. In fact it's possible to win trophies. Imagine that - winning a competition for not doing something. People also air-conduct entire symphonies, though I suspect that's something usually kept to oneself. Ahem.

Now, that got me thinking about the idea of air magic... :?

I can't believe anyone does that outside of an effect, so I had another go at the old thinking lark. This time, I ended by wondering if there's such a thing as air magic in the same way that there's card or coin magic. I'm guessing it'd involve psychokinetic effects.

Then I remembered. It's been done, but I can't remember by whom. Does anyone remember a guy in the 70s who claimed to flick over pages in a telephone book with his mind, but was exposed later when confronted by a debunker. He was a martial arts expert, if I remember, but that's about all I do remember. Who was this bloke, and more interestingly, does anyone use air magic?

Can't recall the name but there was some old film footage on TV earlier this year showing that guy in action. He certainly did 'air' magic because that's the way the pages turned - he was gently blowing air in just the right place across the table! :D

I don't know if this qualifies as "air magic" - but I've been spotted doing sponge ball routines in my sleep. Since I don't actually have the sponges at the time, I guess it's like air guitar.

Air guitar? Air Magic?

I've got a D'Lite routine slowly forming in my head...
