Jumping spots

Postby MagicTom » Dec 15th, '05, 16:49

The Effect

You show 2 cards in see through packets. 1 card is blank and the other has 3 spots on it. You ask the spectator to choose a colour. You take the cards out of the packets and ask the spectator to hold them upside down. It ends up that you make thier selected colour jump off the card with 3 spots on onto the blank card.

Cost

I got this for no more than £3 at a puppet festival. The seller was Paul over at Tricks for truth. I dont know whether he sells it on his website.

Sorry i cant be anymore use on this subject! If anyone finds a dealer please tell us for other people possibly interested.
If you have seen the trick and know how its done I'm sure you could make it yourself.

Difficulty

Extremely easy! The only difficult bit is refusing to do it again when the audience are going mad at you!

Review

This is a fantastic pocket trick that i always carry around with me in my wallet. It can be done anywhere, on the bus, at the bus stop, (In class....*ahem*)
All you need is the props and your spectator.

I even know a professional magician who uses this trick. Yet it is SOOO easy but stunningly effective.

Overall

Fantastic SIMPLE trick- always amazes people.
BUT you really can only do it once to the same audience. If a previous spectator watches you perform it on someone else, they instantly know!

No way...Ho-say! You can only do it once. (As you should with every trick...but you can get away with some - NOT this one!)

Also known as Traffic Lights or something like that.

It looks nice, simple and something I've been meaning to get for a while now.

Also known as Traffic Lights
which is made by Rob Stiff who seems to have the same sort of reputation as Magic Makers, Ellusionist and now Penguin to a certain extent. One inventor of Magic has been quoted as saying he was no longer producing his miracles because he'd been 'ROBbed and STIFFed far too many times'.

Whilst most of us probably don't condone buying rip off goods, it's often hard to know what is and isn't a breach of someone's copyright. It seems to be a bit of a minefield at the best of times

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

I am not condoning such things nor am I making any accusations; it was merely the first name of the effect that came to mind.
