i really should get off of my butt and write reviews

They're back in stock at Alakazam... I got mine today.

This is by far the best wallet I have had the privelage to use bar none. Every routine is well thought out and shown clearly on the 2 accompanying DVDs with Peter Nardi and Marc Spellmann bouncing ideas off each other in thir own inimitable style!!

The only thing I can say is...GET £100 TOGETHER AS SOON AS YOU CAN AND BUY ONE OF THESE WALLETS...You won't regret it!!!

 Aw go on somebody, please give a review on this wallet.

Particularly on how easy or hard the sleights are, I know there are loads of routines you can do with the wallet from what I've read but I don't actually know what routines? Is there palming involved, how big is it, can it be used as an everyday wallet?

Anything anyone? :)

Can be used as an everyday wallet. No need for any difficult sleights, or really anything other than confident handling and timing.

There are definitely no difficult sleights involved. It's all down to confident handling, but everything has been designed to make the mentalists life easier.

As for using it as an everyday wallet, there is no zippered compartment for loose change, so as long as you are haoppy with it being credit cards/business cards and notes only then yes.

Here's my take on this wallet..

Stealth Assassin Wallet

Available from Alakazam.co.uk

Price: £99.99

Mentalism utility

Difficulty: N/A

They say:
The Stealth Assassin comes complete with an instructional DVD featuring Peter Nardi and Marc Spelmann which includes full routines, handling, timing tips & bonus effects and ideas!

Manufactured in high quality leather with an attention to detail that is unsurpassed. The Assassin takes all the greatest elements of its predecessors and combines them to create something new and powerful!

When Peter Nardi created the Mind Spy & Stealth he had a very special wallet made for himself.

Peter has used this wallet for the past 3 years and to this day only one other person has had the pleasure of owning and working with this incredible wallet.

Unveiled for the very first time, Peter Nardi lifts the shroud of mystery and presents to you his greatest creation..... The Stealth Assassin!

This is truly the utility device for the mentalist. Carry the Assassin with you and you will have a mentalism act in your pocket!

Those in the know have been waiting for the release of the Assassin since it's creation and for the lucky few that wait is over.

What does the Stealth Assassin do?

A peek Wallet 2 ways (includes the SUC peek with permission from Mark Strivings)
A built in billet Index
An Out To Lunch capability
Switch, load and steal written information in and out of the wallet.
The Effects possible with the Assassin are endless

I say:
I know a thousand people have posted a thousand comments upon this and many other wallets so what harm my say?

This is something special. I have treasured my original Stealth wallet from the day I received it. It has gone to the other side of the globe with me and helped me gain a minor reputation as a “mindreader”…go figure huh? I wondered what could be done to improve upon it. I have found out.

The advertising is all true, it may be a bit over enthusiastic for some people, but it is true. In fact I would argue that there are 3 different types of peeks…ok, maybe 2 &1/2 !

The box Stealth Assassin comes in is pretty cool in and of itself, black, a great logo and a flashy series of flaps and folds that close it all up. Hmmm, now is that a coincidence I wonder?! Inside the box you will find your gorgeous wallet and two black DVDs promising shed-loads of tips, hints and routines.

The wallet is top quality leather with almost airtight stitching. The inner credit card/business card slots are almost too tight…which is perfect. You want them to be snug so that with a small amount of use, the leather will fit the cards PERFECTLY. This attention to detail is typical of the Stealth Assassin. You can also stash bank notes in an available section making it a totally viable everyday wallet…one loaded to the teeth with knock out potential! Every aspect of the Assassin, from the concept of the wallet itself, down to the slots and stitching have been considered and engineered. THAT is how you define quality…being THAT picky. “You gets what you pay for”.

The effects you could perform with the Stealth Assassin are nigh-on unlimited. The number of different gaffs and possibilities built into the Assassin is very impressive indeed. There is little this wallet can’t offer the serious mentalism performer. Obviously one would not attempt to use all of the wallet's facilities in one sitting as spectators would become highly suspicious of you repeated use of your "perfectly normal" wallet.

The instructions come in the form of the two DVDs included. The DVDs are hosted by Peter Nardi and Marc Spelmann. These two seem to be having a great time and their humour shows through. It’s like watching two friends trading tricks, tips and insults! These two performers and inventors take you through EVERY feature of the wallet in a direct and good humoured way. The routines they perform with it are of very high calibre and the explanations leave no stone unturned.

Even more value comes to the screen as both Peter and Marc offer a wide variety of handling tips and techniques. Physical moves, the timing of moves, variety of ways to get "the peek", patter, phrasing hints and misdirection are all subjects covered thoroughly. Common misconceptions that performers (just starting out with wallets) often cite are also addressed clearly. This is a masterclass in peek wallet use.

Overall:
What can I say, this is (IMHO) the very best multi-purpose mentalism wallet out there. The build quality of the Assassin is stunning, the gaffing is genius, the routines are strong and perfectly exploit the Assassin’s features. The DVDs are chock-full of great routines as well as tips and hints from two talented performers. That alone is worth the price of admission!

Rating out of 10:
11 out of 10 !!!
The Stealth Assassin is a classy, wonderfully crafted and eminently usable utility that will live on for years and years!

Just wanted to add that I got my Stealth Assassin wallet by return of post (so thumbs up to Alakazam!) but initially had some problems concerning a noticeable ‘bend’ in the leather, an issue over the glue along one edge and a little something else due to a particular alignment inside. I then phoned the store and actually chatted to Peter Nardi who was more than helpful - the guy was a complete diamond! After taking his advice, and on the proviso that I keep it for a few weeks before returning without any quibbles whatsoever, the wallet is now perfect and I couldn’t be more pleased with it.

I have to say that Alakazam and Peter himself have been great, and as for the Stealth Assassin I cannot do without it. I’m using it as my everyday wallet and I certainly made the right choice in splashing the cash.

There is a forum for this wallet with numerous suggested routines, btw, and if you own one then you should know how to get in.

bah, i really should get to learn alot of these routines, well anyways, for normal use as a wallet, it works out fine! i keep the wallet in my back pocket, so it gets bent, no worries! just flip the wallet around and it sorta bends back, other then that, nobody has even noticed at all if its a "trick wallet"

Both "Stealths" handle everyday treatment beautifully. I used mine as my everyday wallet for the better part of a year and Peter Nardi used his everyday for so many years it became an eyesore! LOL!

You will learn to cherish the bends and wear a wallet like that picks up as those "scars" say "Normal, everyday wallet." to spectators.

I have been carrying my new Assassin wallet in my back pocket for a good couple of weeks now and it's finally starting to look "lived in".

Now the fun begins.....

Tom has summed it up well.

Phenomenal tool, all I can say. I used my SUC the whole time, but now I have this, and so much more, in my every day wallet.

It is still just a tool, however. The presentation must be around mindreading, not about the wallet.

Great DVD, excellent forums, every mentalist should have this, as it means they are always armed and ready to perfrom a solid mentalism set from their pocket - money cannot put a price on that.

Sinajar,

Since you take the card from the wallet and ask them to write/draw whatever it is your wanting and then turn the card over and place it back on the table ( which will be near your wallet ) when you turn around, during casual conversation about what you are doing you simply appear to be moving the card out of play, as if you don't want to leave it somewhere where you may possibly be able to sneakily switch it or some other clever magician type move. I've never had anyone question it going back in the wallet. At the end of the day all peeks require the card/paper to be handled by the magician after being written, arguably there is no reason for the magician to handle it and that is true, so in order to handle it and look natural requires some good routining.

Tom, how does the outlaw peek compare to the assassin?

They both do the job of "peeking" with similar but technically different techniques.

I think it's a case of apples and oranges really.

Wallets are everyday things and can seem perfectly innocent but... shuttling business cards in and out could seem odd to spectators if the performer doesn't handle it well.

Business card cases (Outlaw is a business card case) could look a bit incongruous with some people these days but they are designed to put cards into and take cards out of.

I personally think that if you look and feel comfortable or innocent using either "the job's a good'un". Both are very good quality.

That was not much help really was it? :?
