Name of this effect?

Postby matt27689 » Jan 13th, '06, 21:54

It's something simple but I don't know the name of it.

You hold the card in the palm of your hand, you wave your other hand over it palming it, making it looks like it dissapears, then putting it back. Then repeating it but then it vanishes?

If you're a member of MVD, watch this video

http://www.magicvideodepot.com/view.php?a=v&t=7303

and go to point 1minute 09 (1:09). Thats the move.

Well the link is correct, but it doesn't work. I even double checked.

The name of the trick is called Simply Impossible and it's by ThePhantom, (search him on MVD)

Remember the effect is at 1:09.

If you read the MVD page you'd see that he said he invented it himself...

It looks very good to me - best guess is that he's using something like the Raven - but then his hand was empty so who knows?

There are no gimmicks when he makes the card vanish :D

But I've seen it before loads on other peoples videos.. I don't think he invented it, and if it is what I think.. then I don't know how he did it because I didn't see it.

Yeah, I see it now. Also, read the comments left by the people who watched the video; seems as though he's not the most honest of people. Matt: You'll figure this move out by watching it, but I don't think it will be of much use to you, given how angle sensitive it is.

Its not that angle sensitive, I showed it to my Mum and i was at a weird angle.

It uses dupes, there is no doubt about that
