i cant wait for this me and a few guys from my magic club are flying over from ireland to blackpool for a few days hope to c ye all,if ye see any irish paddys walking around dont be shy id love to chat

Without appearing to be rude vanishingrabbit - can I assume that English isn't your first language?

To answer what I think your question is - follow the link again, and click on the "brochure" option down the left hand side...

I followed the link and all it says is nine top performers have you looked at it yourself so doe's anyone know who they are

I think rabbit is refering to the "British Magical Close-Up Championships - Nine top close-Up Performers" on the Friday evening.

Sorry, I don't know who they are.

I usually find out the competitors for the British Magical Championships on the day, as they don't put this in the brochure - they may not be people you have heard of.

If you like close-up, then there is also the Close-up sessions on the Sunday, these include this year,
Martin Nash, Billy McComb, Vallarino, Rick Merrill, Chris Capehart, Chase Curtis, Paul Green and Michael Ammar.

Not too good at the minute, just broken up with my girlfriend, was in a serious relationship with her forquite a while, and all my spare time was taken up with travelling down to leicester to see her (she lives there!). Weve just broken up, not for any bad thing (well, breaking up is a bad thing, but not for a bad reason!) and im able to put a bit more time into my magic now.

Ive missed the boards, havent been able to keep up with the goss recently! so its good to be back (wish i could be back and still with claire though )

Last year my friend and I went for a quick something to eat (drink) at Yates's. We arrive early, but would rather not stand around in the queues all day.

We go for a walk along the promenade and go to the Yates's closer to the south pier.

This is a more distant map. The Winter Gardens is in line with the Central Pier, so you can see that it is about three quarters of the way to the South Pier.

I know there are plenty of pubs and another Yates's closer, but i like this one. Nice food / good prices / not too busy on a Friday Lunchtime in February...


Anyone going is more than welcome to join us, and we are aiming to be there for about, 1pm...ish (if this changes, i'll let you know).

When you arrive look for all the people with cards and coins out (if you arrive first - make sure you have cards and coins out).
If not, give me a call, and we'll let you know if we are there / where we are.

This way, you can stay for as long or as little as you want, and then you can register, and go to what you want - and if we know each other's faces / names - then we can chat to each other during the weekend, or have mini-meets should you so feel like it. That is up to you. This is just an introduction to who the members are / and what they look like.

all this talk about the convention gets me anoyed i dont have enough money to go! haha

o well, any1 whos thinkin of goin, its ace all weekend and if your after new effects or to just meet up with other magicians then this is the place to go!

Having never been to a magic convention or lecture before. I have signed up for the whole weekend and very much looking forward to going to Blackpool. I was wondering dose anybody have any tips on things I should make sure I do while I’m there? Or what I should take with me?

I am assuming my credit card will come in handy especially as I can see a bad case of CUPS coming on. But any tips or advice that can be posted about the event would be very much appreciated. Cheer in advance

I wish I could go but unfortunately it's not the closest place to where we live and I've pretty much used up my stock of 'driving credits'...let me see, Stoke, Leicester, off to Sherwood this weekend.
