Hey People!

Postby arkos » Jan 22nd, '06, 09:19

Hey everyone, My name is Matthew but just call me Arkos, I'm 24 from NSW Australia, I am new to the magic scene (EN) Just got into it the last few months. What got me into it was watching Criss Angels 'Mindfreak' Series on tv. I like his style etc. I dont have a very big Arsenal of Tricks, mainly i have been learning Coin Sleight's and the Odd Card trick here and there, My best trick is making a match jump, with no magnets and no threads. Completly clean. Anyway Nice forum! Talk to you guys later.

(Sorry about the double Post, Not sure how that happened)

Hi and welcome to TM

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Welcome Arkos.
Isn't there someone else on TM who I saw doing the match jump?

Hehehe :) must be an old trick by the sounds of it, yet rare to find, as far as searching for it on the web goes. As they say an oldy but a goody :D

Well you kinda dont forget this trick, unless you have Alzheimer's disease lol. Bit hard to explain but there are a few methods, 1 is with IT, 1 is with earth magnets, and another is flicking, neither of these methods are how it is done properly. In my honest opinion, Its such a simple trick you just dont forget, no matter how advanced you are as a magician, im sure tomo would concure. But i guess it was the 1st trick i had ever learnt so i guess it will stick in my mind alot more than most.

I know there was no other gimmicks involved such as IT or magnets, etc.
I think it involved applying pressure at certain points (or something along similar lines) so I guess it must be the flicking method that you mention.
TBH I never really got round to learning it properly which is why I've forgotten how it's done

Its not a flicking method really, but I still can't get it to work for me :(

I need more practice, but the thing is I usually end up setting the matches on fire

Edit: Oh, and Welcome to TM!

I don't flick either. In fact, you can watch in extreme close-up and not detect anything.
