Silver Shifter

Postby bananafish » May 6th, '03, 10:51

Hi,

Please could someone review the Silver Shifter. Does it work with any coin - and are any sleights needed if the coin is to be examined after the trick?.

I am just starting in the world of magic and so am looking for simple tricks that I can preform whilst I am reading bobo's book on coin magic and the royal road to card magic.

Thanks

I apologise - I have just seen an old thread with a similar request for a review - I should have posted my question there.

However, I would still be interested in knowing
a) if the coins can be examined afterwards.
b) does it use any simple/complex sleights
c) will it work with any coin.

meanwhile - I will try to find an online movie clip of it being performed..

There's a demo video there.
Looks like there's no switches, but I think theres one as he takes the coin from left to right hand, after the bend.

ok im being picky but this has already been asked for review... if we keep asking for the same reviews over and over the forum just gets fuller and we end up having 8 reviews for one thing and 10 requests for another... added to which it makes it a pain when trying to find a specific post

You're not being picky mog, and I did apologise for starting a new thread when I realised (post 2).

Unfortunately when I searched for silver to see if it had already been reviewed - I probably searched for sliver instead as it came back with no hits.

Bananafish in reply ...

a) if the coins can be examined afterwards.

Coins? there is only one. Yes the coin can be examined.

b) does it use any simple/complex sleights.

The former.

c) will it work with any coin.

Technically yes, however I know your real question and the answer is no - you pay for what you get.

Oops, just realised where I was, the answer to b) is now ...

b) Sleights? Don't know what you mean.

Bananafish
If I were you I would give silver shifter a wide berth, the next time you come to the Ipswich Society I will show you this to say its pants is an understatement.
It would not fool a blind person.
Cheers
