I have a problem with Big Time Las Vegas Leaper (it's the version in AOA3 and on Ammars ETMCM).
A couple of times I have done it the spectator doing the counting was very suspicious of the pack and wanted to count them again. I got her to sit on the packet anyway and finished the effect. She couldn't work out how the 2nd part worked, but told me that she knew there were more than 10 cards there (she felt the pack was too thick). As such she partly reverse engineered the correct solution.
This has happened to a lesser degree, one other time I performed it.
As I have not got burned on the palming part, I may just move to Malones cards across instead.
Anyone else have this problem??

Cheers

Sorry, done now.

I got rid of all the video clips that were no longer being discussed from my site as they were taking up server space. I'll leave this one up for a while.

PS This is still the original video, and I actually handle this effect completely differently now.

All the best,

I am very keen to see Goldfish's totally different handling. When are you going to upload it? (Says me who can't work out how to upload anything!)

Also, I see the original link is now fixed - so I have now seen your demo for the first time.
My comments -

The slight pause between 7 & 8 would only be noticable to a magician IMHO. That count seemed entirely fair.
But i re-iterate my point above - shouldn't the performer place more emphasis on the fact that he starts with exactly 10 cards??

The accidental-on-purpose 11th card seems a nice touch. But maybe YOU should not remove it from her packet. Why not just ask HER to put the extra card aside?

Likewise, is it a good idea to touch her cards and then say "don't let me touch your cards like I just did"? Maybe she would guess that you somehow transferred the 3 cards at that point. Of course, such a guess would be wrong - but the spec doesn't know that.

Or maybe I am being paranoid - does a spactator notice those subtleties????

Yes, definately. Maybe not consciously but it will definately make a difference to the overall strebgth of the effect. Good point, well made :)

PS I wasn't planning on uploading the new version, but if I ever get round to even filming it, I will try to remember to put it up here.

All the best,
