Bugnote...
If you're intending to use the wallet as your regular wallet, you'll need one of good quality. A few I've tried are made of limp plastic, and are not really serviceable.
My favourite wallet is a leather Himber wallet, made by Mark Mason, and I've also got quite a nice 'Balducci-style' wallet.
There are several sources for wallets, but try a search for 'wallet' on eMagictrics.co.uk first. Or ask Laurence for his advice. There's definately a Balducci wallet there, as I almost bought it myself - which states that it is so good, it can be used as your 'regular' wallet.
For a decent 'serviceable' wallet, you'll be looking at spending at least £35, but if the quality of my Mason Himber wallet is anything to go by, it is worth it, as a decent regular leather wallet will set you back about £30 anyway.
Midge...
The type of wallet you buy depends on what effects you want to do. Gimmicked wallets range in price and utility, and much of what is mentioned above is true. The Balducci is used for loading items secretly, to make them look like they've been in there all the time. The Himber wallet is used to 'exchange' items, i.e. turn a blank piece of paper into a banknote, or my own favourite - an impossible 'torn and restored' card effect.
Whichever (or both) type you choose depends on your needs. There are also hybrid wallets and special use wallets, but possibly the best place to start in my own opinion is the Balducci.
