Ive noticed many card packet tricks now use a kind of non-permanent (tacky) glue to temporarily keep cards together. I remember the days when "rough & smooth" fluid was used!!! (showing my age now!!).
However, I can't find a suitable glue for card tricks, can anyone suggest any brands or types... (i did buy a Bostik Spray Mount glue - but this remained too sticky!)

Any help would be welcome.

You're already heading in the right direction. Most use a REPOSITIONAL spray mount such as 3M but it can be expensive but lasts a long time.

It MUST be the repositional type and yes, it is sticky but the tackyness soon goes with use and you need to make sure that you allow it enough time to dry out.

It's a matter of playing around with it to find out what suits you best.

'Blue Glue' is the stuff - arts & crafts shops/online sources will be able to help. If you apply it and immediately stick two cards together it's permanent but if you let it dry first its repositionable like a Post-It note.

I may have missed the point somewhere but what's wrong with double-sided sticky tape. You can get a roll on a dispenser for less that a quid from any good stationery store. It's practical, easily appliable, easily removable and (by association) easily replaceable.

DS tape is equally good but slightly less easy to apply and control. In both cases it's esssential to remove most of the sticky by dabbing a finger on it several times to make sure the adhesive is only sufficient for the short time it needs to be working and easily releasable when required. It's possible to get repositionable sticky in the form of a roll of tape as well.

I know it's disgusting but I read in a book to use your saliva. I do it sometimes :p if I have no other alternative but be sure to wash your card for the next use. Pineapple juice also works great...

It's a nice idea to be able to perform these sticky card routines with a bit of saliva and there fore making it impromptu, but i don't think there is much emphasis here on impromptu magic. People will know well in advance where they need some adhesive for their magic and can plan accordingly and then use whatever is necessary (DS Tape, glue, etc).

However, if that is the line you wish to explore, with your saliva solution then take a look at Jay Sankey's "Ultimate DL" from "Revolutionary Card Magic". It's very interesting.
