I can't really say too much in case I give the secret away but the problem I got is as follows:

When I write down the spectator's chosen number, the "thingy" writes in ink that is quite lighter than the pen itself (if you've got the super sharpie you'll know what I'm on about )

I contacted the seller and they said it's because it's new and the tip is quite sharp and that after time it'll wear in and become a lil' blunt and therefore write thicker. To me it looks like it's not inking itself sufficiently, as the line it writes is quite faded compared to the pen itself.

Did any of you have this problem? If so, how did u overcome it? I'm tempted to try n file the edge down with a file to try n make it blunt.

I've never had that problem except when the gimmick fell off for a while and dried out. I then just replaced it and stored it with the lid upright and it re-inked no problem.

Try 'fluffing' the end of the ink cartridge with a paper clip. Otherwsie check that the gimmick is on properly and that the cartridge is long enough to be in contact.

Just a small observation...

Perhaps YOU are noticing it a lot more than it would be noticed in PERFORMANCE.

I've written predictions in pencil with a swami, and yet mimicked writing with a PEN. Nobody noticed. (I forgot to put my 'ikea' pencils in my pocket!)

Seriously, it's the effect that counts. Perhaps it's get-away-with-it-able???

I thought that, but......it really is noticeable - the pen writes in quite bold ink and the scriber is quite alot lighter (so much so - it appears that the prediction and the rest of the writing were written by 2 different pens).
Anyway, I'm gonna try n replace the refill and if that doesn't help then I'll try Kevin Cann's advice.
