Postby bettingmokey » Mar 16th, '06, 13:05

Do people worry about your Gambling? Do they say your behaviour is extreme, that you binge or even that you are addicted? Has your love of gambling lead to debt or is it tearing your life apart? We want to hear your side of the story if gambling if gambling is taking over your life. Are you a relative or friend of someone who is suffering because of a gambling addiction? We are working with addiction specialists and could help you on the road to recovery.

Award winning TV production company is making a sensitive documentary for Channel 4 which looks at these issues.

I work for an award winning independent TV company, which makes sensitive and thought provoking documentaries. I would be very interested to hear you thoughts and feedback on the information below. If this is something you are interested in finding out more or could help with my research about then please get in touch for an informal chat - in confidence and with no commitment.

I would like to speak to families who have been affected by a loved ones addiction to gambling. I would also like to speak to hear from those who don't feel ready to give up gambling, even though it is affecting their lifestyles, but might be ready to speak about it. I understand that it is a brave move to talk about this issue for everyone and will respect the confidence of anyone who gets in touch. At this stage any calls will be in with no commitment, based on further information it will be up to you if you want to take it further.

To find out more please contact Rebecca 0207 290 0667 or email rebecca@bettytv.co.uk All calls taken in strict confidence

"a standard plug"

curious to know why this has been put on a magicians website though, apart from the connection with cards. are magicians known for being gamblers? you wouldn't think we'd have big problems with it though would you!?

As TM is a Magic Discussion Forum, I have no idea why this was posted here - we don't have any real interest in Gambling as such. The only gambling we encounter is when the whole thing is rigged in favour of the performer for entertainment purposes only!

We'll leave the post visible for a while just in case it's of interest to anyone but if anyone has concerns in this direction then in the first instance, you might prefer to check out Gamblers Anonymous - the website gives UK contact details and is http://www.gamblersanonymous.org.uk/

PS This thread was originally posted in Support and Tips but was moved here.

it's only other people that have a problem with my gambling!

i never use magic to cheat anyone out of money though, but you can easily get someone to buy you a drink or 2
