Review: "Hyper Realistic" TT's by Frediup Magic

Postby B0bbY_CaT » Apr 5th, '06, 14:39

i bought my "Hyper Realistic" TT's by Frediup Magic around 6 weeks ago. up till then i had only had the Vernet style. since most people who know what i am talking about will have or have owned in the past a Vernet model, i will make my comparison to the vernet as part of my review.

size & fit: the Frediup is a soft silicon TT. it is NOT as hard as the soft Vernet model but harder than most of the soft TT's i have seen around. i feel it is the "perfect" combination of flexibility and body. it wont "bend" unnaturally yet it remains extremely flexible. great for all kind of vanishes and productions. the Frediup is available in so many different sizes (diameter and/or length) it is amaxing! XS, S, M, XM, L, XL, XXL, XXXL... see what i mean... the Vernet is best worn from the knuckle "out" while the Frediup comfortably sits past the knuckle and depending on "you" and the size you choose may even neatly run all the way to the where yr T joins yr H. i really liked this feature because it increases the "safety" of the problem angles that i refer to as from 9 o'clock to 10 o'clock and from 2 o'clock top 3 o'clock.

color: here Frediup is a big winner. 4 different SKN colors are available.

texture & detail: again, Frediup is far superior. no seams or "joins"! amazing detail in the texture, the nail, even realistic F/prints! if you look at yr own SKN closely, you will note it is actually made up of "blotches" of various colors. so is the Frediup... AMAZING! i wont go into to much detail except to say in this area, the Frediup is AMAZING! once again, this helps protect from potential problems in the danger areas that i refer to as from 9 o'clock to 10 o'clock and from 2 o'clock top 3 o'clock.

usability: the Frediup is every bit as portable, durable and practical to use as the Vernet. it is worn differently though and this takes a little getting used to. the frediup has a very clever texture on the inside that makes it impossible to have a problem with it getting "stuck" during performance. of course by nature of it's material i would recommend inserting some aluminium foil if doing any heat or fire related routines. load size of the FFrediup is fine, somewhere in between the Vernet standard and kingsize.

Price: price of the Frediup is very high... around 27 Euros each! that is MUCH higher than the Vernet that you can often buy for as little as 2 euros.

summary: the Frediup is without doubt the best quality TT i have ever seen. it would want to be for the price!!! if yr audience for TT routines is typically at "12 o'clock", or even 11 o'clock to 1 o'clock, dont spend the money on the Frediup. the Vernet is every bit as good at "hiding" while working at these angles.

however... if you want to be able to work using a TT at "180 degress" and one of Frediup's numerous sizes and 4 colors works for you... seriously, you will have no problem working in a "slightly" dimmly lit room at distances of around 1 meter or even a little less from 180 degrees.

the colors shown on the Frediup web site are a good reproduction of what you'll get. however double check the size and length you need. you really need to find one that is a little longer than yr own T, yet you also need to ensure the opening of the size you buy is not "overly" big so it can sit neatly and discretely where yr T joins yr H. if you get the right size and color the possibilities are endless.

think carefully though if the benefits of the Frediup (greater working range and closer working distance) are necessary to you since the cost is significant! is the Frediup better than the Vernet? well it is better but the real question is... is the "Better" necessary? in most cases, probably not. however in those special cases i have mentioned above, providing you choose size and color wisely, you will have HUGE confidence and most importantly nearly no "problem" angles in bars, restaurants etc.

i note they hv free shipping now. you can see an example of the TT at:

Hope this is helpful.

...
A euro is pretty much a dollar...

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism
